Integrated into her work, Star illustrates how the social constructivism of gender has ultimately led generations of women into a place of isolation and mistrust with one another. As a result of this strategic separation fostered by a patriarchal paradigm, masses of women worldwide are socialized to have low self-esteem and a lack of self-worth as well as few supportive outlets to develop a deeper sense of self and community. Men on the other hand are misguided into a world of emotional suppression and normalized violence thus perpetuating a societal condition where power elicits abuse and exploitation serves as catalyst to success..
Star, along with many others, is committed to dismantling the social norms that further perpetuate a status quo society that capitalizes on the self-depreciation and divisiveness. Through her personal practice and co-creative projects with other members of the global community, Star is enthusiastic to be at the forefront of the current paradigm shift that humanity is facing and is eager to usher in a new way of egalitarian living that celebrates life, respects difference and honors the beautiful planet in which we inhabit.
